How to Build Relationships With Your Peers

Your peers can serve as resources so it's important that you devote some time to developing a network that includes other lawyers. There are two main ways in which this is done: traditionally and digitally.

Traditional relationship building includes doing things such as attending mixers for other legal professionals and attending seminars and conventions. You can also build relationships this way in a less formal manner such as joining a sports team made up of bar members or something similar.

You can also build your relationships digitally. Digital relationship building is any relationship building that can take place online. One of the most popular sites for doing this is LinkedIn and if you don't already have a profile there it's highly suggested that you set it up.
